Meat vs. inflation 💸🥩

Meat continues to be one of the strongest departments in stores despite inflation, but seafood and meat alternatives remain severely down. This information is according to Anne-Marie Roerink, president of 210 Analytics LLC.

• Meat had below-average inflation compared to other foods and beverages, but inflation in processed meat stayed in the double digits. 

Nevertheless, the sales of both were up in July.

• Poultry delivered big, but because prices have declined as opposed to beef and pork. On the ground meat side, ground pork was up.
• Plant-based meat alternatives fell behind year-ago levels.
