💉 A new vaccine, which has been developed by the Western College of Veterinary Medicine to prevent Strep zoo and avoid treatment with antibiotics, is now ready for commercialization – it’s not water in the desert, but it'll certainly be purchased like it! 

     • Streptococcus equi zooepidemicus is a bacterial disease that produces symptoms similar to Streptococcus suis and African Swine Fever (ASF), thus leading to the mortality of pigs – be it sudden or after developing a fever. 

🇨🇦 The vaccine designed by the researchers in Saskatoon, Canada, effectively prevents the infection: even though vaccinated pigs do develop transient fever if infected, that doesn’t last very long and they don’t die. Click here to learn more about the study.
