A (not-so-quick) update 🆙

🐷 It's been 10 years since the National Research Council (NRC) in the US published an update of the national Nutrient Requirements of Swine… But the next one is on its way! 

     • Since 1944, there have been 11 updates – the last one was in 2012, and hopefully the next one will be released by 2025/26.

Each update eliminates and adds requirements and recommendations for various nutrients as seen appropriate. Just as the next will, hopefully, incorporate the survey research of Dr. Jamil Faccin – a veterinarian and scientist at Kansas State University.

     • Dr. Faccin thinks that the next update will focus more on pig health parameters, as his national-wide survey has examined vitamin and trace mineral use.
