A not-so-friendly reminder ⚠️

🦠 The Associate Director of the Swine Health Information Center (SHIC) says that the difficulty in containing the spread of a fairly new strain of PRRS is a reminder of the importance of diagnostics. 

     • Using diagnostics is important to identify the strain that’s circulating in your herd and, considering that this virus can change a lot over time, better predict whether a vaccine will be effective and new strains may emerge.

👀 This strain was originally identified in Iowa, but has now spread to six states – which is why the SHIC is keeping it on its radar! You should keep it on yours too, by reading this.
